En underbar semester // A wonderful vacation

Då ska det uppdateras!! Först lite text, sen lite bilder!

Time for an update!! Pictures from our holiday, and English text at the bottom of the page!

Strax fick Very Good vilket jag tyckte var väldigt bra. Bonni blev bästa juniortik, fick excellent men inget CK.

Swedish Winner Show, Norrköping 2011.

Bonnibel got Very Good.

Strax also got Very Good. Apparently he fell in love with some girl...he refused to eat, drink or "talk to me" after we left the show...and he was sad for about 500 km. When we arrived home the heartache was forgotten :-)

My gorgeous boy, behaving so well and balanced.

Micael found himself a Malamute-girl - and love was in the air :-)

And I feel in love with a Husky.....such a beautiful dog!!!!!!!!!!!

And then some holiday-pics!! Strax and Bonni having a blast at the beach!

What would a vacation without fun on the beach be?! We visited a campsite called Sandvik, and they had a great beach for dogs and their owners!!
A tired Strax at Vadstena campsite...
Bonni in Vadstena - is it the sun our the holy Birgitta she has seen?
Moonshine over Husaberg campsite in Askersund.
My precious girl.
My outstanding boy.
These little guys patrolled the campsite every morning. Being very close to the dogs...there's a fine line between courage and stupidity :-) No animals were hurt during this photoshoot :-)
A nice little restuarant in Hjo.
Strax enjoying caravan-life!
Awesome sunset over Hjo.
Full moon!!!!!!!!
Little Bonni on the lookout.
The judge and me having a chatt after he placed Bonni as number one junior female. I was so surprised!
Bonni, me and Paul Stanton.
Strax and me at the White Swiss Special.
It was a very warm and sunny day, and I would like to thank the White Swiss Club for a great arrangement!! It was such a pleasure and a lot of fun to attend!! Very well done - I'll give the Club a CACIB for the show! I will certainly try to make it to the Special in 2012!

Dear readers, we have returned home after a wonderful vacation, and I hope you will enjoy the pictures. We attended the White Swiss Special in Askersund, and the Swedish Winner Show in Norrköping. Beside dog-shows we travelled around with our caravan and just enjoyed life. I think the dogs had a great time. We did some bicycling and walkabouts during daytime, in the evenings they served as guardians and looked closely at by passers, and gosh they were tired when they finally could go to sleep!

At the White Swiss Special we had a very knowledgeable and thorough judge. He gave Strax a Very Good, which I was very pleased with, and Bonni got Excellent and became best junior female. She acted a bit strange, apparently she is in her worst “teenage-time” right now…she was shy, afraid of the people and dogs running after us in the show ring, and a bit reluctant towards the judge. I have never seen her like that and was caught by surprise. The whole week she has been acting rather weird, suddenly she was scared of two birds…her most common and favoured prey. She reacts strongly at the most common things, and sometimes like a brave heart in less common situations. I guess there are a lot of hormones running around in her body and mind, and she is trying to sort out the grown-up life. With her high energy level and out of proportion-reactions she has been a piece of work this passed week. Anyway, the judge liked her a lot, but we did not get any more then Excellent due to her behaviour. I fully agree with his decision, scared and nervous dogs should not be awarded and win. Both beauty and mentality must go hand in hand!!

At the Swedish Winner Show we got Very Good on both dogs. The judge didn’t like any of my dogs, and frankly, I was not too found of him either. Very well, lessons learned – we will never attend a show for the same judge again, and I think I’m not alone about this thought. Many beautiful and great dogs went home with Very Good or less, and the rather rude and unfriendly manner of the judge made most dog-owners irritated and upset.

To sum up our vacation – we had such a great time, a lot of fun, serious loads of excellent food, some nice Amarone wine (my new favourite!) and an awesome time with the dogs. We met a lot of nice and friendly people, it was fun to meet everyone at the Special and to see most of them again at the Winner Show, and I really hope we can repeat this next year!
